photo essays;
A. Number 1 and student choice
B. Mehmet Turgut
C. http://www.arteknyc.com/blog/?p=4723
D. I chose this photo because I like to picture portraits as if I was the person in the photo. It allows me to imagine how I would feel and as if I would know what was going on while the picture was being taken. I also chose this photo because it makes me curious; it shows mystery. I have no idea what the picture means or what the young girl is tossing into the air. This picture may not show a lot of contrast, but it does show texture. This photo is also symmetrical, the drops aren't and her hands aren't but her body is in the middle which gives the illusion. Mehmet also shows repetition, even though it is broad, because all of the droplets are somewhat similar to each other.

A. Number 2 and Panning
B. David Orias

D. I chose this image because I think that it is unique. Most panning images are of motorized vehicles, like cars, motorcycles, and some rides from an amusement parks. This picture shows more creativity and originality. I also like how sharp the main object is. The outline of the man on the surfboard is perfect, crystal clear while the ocean at his back is not clear. The height of the water also looks like it creates a high horizon line. The blurriness of the water highlights focus on the man. I like how the white water at the tips of the ocean create a high contrast with the black in his wetsuit.

A. Number 3 and Portrait
B. Clone Photography

D. This image really stood out to me because of her eyes. I love how bright and open they are. I think her eyes contrast really well with the cape/hood around her head. Her flawless skin mixed with the shadows on the side of her face makes the middle of her face glow. Her rosy cheeks match the color in her lips, which gives a beautiful effect. I love the way the artist chose to obscure a part of the figure, because it makes her eyes stand out even more. I also love the fact that the girl is not wearing any mascara or eye shadow, basically she is not wearing any eye makeup, which gives a natural effect. Overall, I love everything about this photo.
